![]() ![]() Larger battles/battlefields that actually force you to have reserves too? Mmmph. ![]() I know it’s just the inner-love of command structures in me speaking but if there could be multiple officers per battle, perhaps embedded within certain units or something, that would be all I need in this world. There were reserves, chains of command, lulls in the fighting, villages were recaptured like 5 times over sometimes, all that good stuff. This goes for both games but, personally, one thing I’d like to see is some implementation of an officer system and significantly larger unit sizes.īattles during that time period were long, drawn out, and bloody. It’s not really promoting it any more than counter strike promotes mass murder. Idk getting mixed up In that stuff seems silly in a historical total war game. Which they usually portray in a decent tone… but we all know that means the rape and execution of hundreds of thousands of people. Rome 2 literally let you enslave people and build slave auctions haha, great part of the game which was accurate to the time.Īlso almost every game has had a “raze city” option. I hope that’s not why they are not making empire 2. But then again I wouldn’t be the type of person who had an issue unless they like really did something egregious. I mean I wouldn’t have an issue with a new empire game. Like the game is about conquest, but you can choose to liberate provinces etc. IMO it’s not like they really came down on one side or the other. Oh and I loved the pop ups in game that told you historical facts for the year! I learned so much from thoseĮh I mean maybe? Have they said this is a reason they are staying away from these eras? Then again the Christianity/Islam issues could stir shit up. Sadly I think CA will do its best to avoid controversy. In my opinion it shouldn't make a differance, in fact we should lean into our history and owning our mistakes as nations. We are talking about the native American genocides, Western powers trying to split up China into 8 different European colonies, the slave trade from Africa, the English atrocities in India and the list goes on and on. Colonial times are still very recent and the scars are felt by many. Sadly the political context of these games means I doubt we will see sequels. Playing as England but spending most of my time and resources on America was great and then I was able to turn my attention to mainland Europe Think we missed one?
